Brent Climate Assembly 3 Update

On December 7th we held our final session where the Assembly focused on how to turn the ideas they’ve been discussing into a set of recommendations for action.

Who was in the room?

53 Assembly members joined environmental and engagement experts, and council officers, to develop recommendations to address the climate and ecological emergency. The experts attending this session were:

Rebecca Elliot – Assistant Professor of Sociology, London School of Economics, focusing on environmental, economic and societal impacts of climate change.

Sam Fankhauser – Director of the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and Director of the ESRC-funded Centre for Climate Change Economics and Policy

Agamemnon Otero – CEO of Repowering London, a non-profit organisation which helps set up community-owned renewable energy projects.

What’s next?

A report on the Assembly process and its recommendations is being prepared. Once finished, this will be announced and made public.
